How do you know Him?
Some days you believe Him,
Some days you forget Him.
You spit on Him, you wipe His wounds.
You let Him in, you stand your grounds.
You barely hear a thing He says
for all the righteous selfishness.
How could you know Him?
If not for every bit of Grace
That radiates from His face?
That lets you in, forgives your sin,
That dies to hold you close again?
You strain to hear the word He says:
Be with me in selflessness.
Some days you believe Him,
Some days you forget Him.
You spit on Him, you wipe His wounds.
You let Him in, you stand your grounds.
You barely hear a thing He says
for all the righteous selfishness.
How could you know Him?
If not for every bit of Grace
That radiates from His face?
That lets you in, forgives your sin,
That dies to hold you close again?
You strain to hear the word He says:
Be with me in selflessness.
